Plywood is sold on grade, and grade is where most buyers get caught. The short version is that the difference between grades is the glue, not the wood.
MR grade is moisture resistant. It handles humidity and the occasional splash, and it is right for bedroom wardrobes, wall units and anything that stays dry. BWR is boiling water resistant, made with a tougher glue, and it belongs in kitchens and anywhere there is real, repeated water. Marine grade, made to IS 710, is the highest of the three and is built for sustained wet conditions.
Buying marine grade for a bedroom wardrobe is money wasted. Buying MR for a kitchen sink cabinet is money lost twice, because you will pay again when it delaminates. We will tell you which one the job actually needs, which sometimes means selling you the cheaper sheet.

What buyers ask about plywood.
What is the difference between MR and BWP plywood?
The glue. MR is moisture resistant and suits dry interior work. BWP, boiling water proof, uses a far more water resistant adhesive and is made for sustained wet conditions. BWR sits between them.
Which plywood should I use for a kitchen?
BWR at minimum, and marine grade for the cabinet under the sink. Kitchens see repeated water and steam, and MR grade will not survive it for long.
What does IS 710 mean?
It is the Indian Standard that marine grade plywood is made to. A sheet marked IS 710 has been made to that specification, which is what you are paying the premium for.
